Our Beliefs

About The Bible

  • We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God.
  • We believe that the Bible in its original autographs, correctly interpreted, is entirely true and never false in all it affirms, relating to doctrine, ethics, and to the social, physical, or life sciences.
  • We believe the Bible is and has been preserved by God for us; that it is authoritative because of its divine inspiration, divine revelation, and because it contains truth and has withstood the test of time.
  • We believe the Bible is the final authority for life practice; and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.

About God

  • We believe that God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are one God.
  • We believe that God is all knowing, all powerful and ever present.
  • We believe God created the universe by His Power and Word.
  • We believe God can be known by faith in Christ, studying His word, and following His leadership.

About Jesus Christ

  • We believe Jesus Christ was sent by God the Father into the world to restore His relationship with His creation.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ was virgin born, sinless in life and mighty in words and deeds.
  • We believe Jesus was both God and man; that He was crucified for our sins, and was bodily raised from the dead. He then ascended to His Father’s side where He is head of the church and intercedes for believers.
  • We believe Jesus Christ is coming again personally, visibly and bodily to reign as Lord.

About The Holy Spirit

  • We believe the Holy Spirit is a person and is the third person of God.
  • We believe that He indwells all believers, gifts all believers for the edification of the body, and seals them at the moment of salvation. He fills them in response to confession of sin and surrender to Him.

About Salvation

  • We believe that Jesus Christ, through His death on the cross, provided the sole means of salvation for all. However, to receive salvation one must recognize his own sin, repent of it and trust Jesus Christ alone.
  • We believe that salvation includes justification, sanctification and glorification; it is a process by faith, not a prize and therefore every true believer is eternally secure and cannot lose his salvation.
  • We believe all who have received Christ will at death depart to be with Christ in their spirits and at Christ’s return receive a new body which will be like His glorious body.

About The Church

  • We believe a New Testament church is a local body of immersed believers who have agreed together to worship Jesus Christ, edify believers, evangelize the lost and minister to others.
  • We believe Christ left the church two ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Baptism by immersion symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the new life we have in Him. It is the first act of obedience reserved for the true follower of Christ.

The Lord’s Supper is a reminder of Christ’s death and fulfillment of scripture and it anticipates His Second Coming.

  • We believe Christ left the church with two commandments: (Matthew 22:36-40)

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” – Worship
“Love your neighbor as yourself.”- Ministry.

  • We believe Christ left the church with one commission: (Matthew 28:19-20)

Go and make disciples -- Evangelism
Baptize -- incorporate into Fellowship
Teach them all things – Discipleship

  • We believe Christ left the church with a clear mission: (Acts 1:8)

Jerusalem – Local missions first
Judea & Samaria – Regional missions
Ends of the Earth – Foreign missions

  • We believe the Bible teaches five functions for the New Testament Church:

COME to celebrate God’s presence - WORSHIP. The number one purpose of this church is to celebrate God's presence, or to Worship.
CONNECT with God’s people; His family, which is FELLOWSHIP
GROW in closeness to God through education and experience, which is DISCIPLESHIP
SERVE to demonstrate God’s love through MINISTRY
GO to communicate God’s word by EVANGELISM
