Our History
Clay Road Baptist Church (CRBC) began as a church plant by J. M. McDonnel meeting for the first time on June 30, 1955. Less than two years later, CRBC had constructed its first building and was constituted into a local Baptist church with affiliations to the Union Baptist Association, Baptist General Convention of Texas, and the Southern Baptist Convention.
As Spring Branch grew in population, CRBC experienced growth throughout the 1960’s and 1970’s expanding its facilities and its ministries to the community including the founding of Clay Road Baptist School.
Weathering the resulting impact of the 1980’s economy on the community, CRBC continued on through the 1990’s revitalizing as a body. Today, CRBC is once again experiencing healthy, vibrant growth and involvement with the community partnering with Spring Branch ISD, Star of Hope Mission, Angel Food ministries, and more.
