On February 12, 2006, CRBC called Bruce Northam as Senior Pastor. Bruce, his wife Connie, and their daughters have been members of CRBC for over twelve years. Bruce and Connie served in full time, itinerate evangelism for twenty-six years. Ordained in 1983, Bruce has preached thousands of crusades and revivals world-wide over the last twenty-two years.

Patrick Stewart

Patrick and his wife Lisa have been CRBC members since 2001. Patrick began his preaching ministry when licensed in 1986. He was ordained to the ministry by CRBC in 2004.

Patrick graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Religion in May of 2006. He will be enrolling in seminary to pursue a masters degree in theology.

And, as a side note, Patrick is an avid sports fan and has no problem yelling at the tv when his team does bad. His team? The Redskins…keep yelling, Patrick…keep yelling.

Jay Ghormley
Associate Pastor – Music & Administration

Jay joined the CRBC staff in May of 2000. Jay graduated from Baylor University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Church Music; he also graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1996 with a Masters of Religious Education. Prior to serving at Clay Road, Jay served at a small mission church in Lancaster, Texas and a large suburban church in Cypress, Texas. As Associate Pastor of Music & Administration he oversees the planning and coordination of worship services and music ministries for all ages. He is also responsible for Facilities Management, Budget Administration and Personnel.

Jay and his wife, Angela, have one son, Travis, born in June 2006 and one Beagle, Bonnie, adopted in 2001.

Shane Lakey
Associate Pastor – Students & Community

Shane joined the CRBC staff in January 2007. A native Houstonian, Shane graduated from Houston Baptist University in 2001 with degrees in Communications and Christianity. During and immediately after college he spent time working in professional sports & live event production. Shane began working with students while in college interning for a youth program, volunteering for a youth worship band, working two summer camps as recreation staff, and leading Bible studies for youth. His previous work experience includes: working in the Student Life department of a local college, teaching and coaching for a local private school, and serving as Youth Director at an area church. His responsibilities at CRBC include leading the junior high and high school student ministries as well as establishing relationships for ministry with organizations within the Spring Branch community. His hobbies include playing amateur baseball (when his weak arm is not hurting), playing music, watching baseball...year round, and Playstation 3 (if the poor boy had one). His wife, Rebecca, does an amazing job putting up with his antics.

Eric Dodson

Eric returned to CRBC in 2007 having spent time in the US Marines, youth ministry, and the corporate world. In addition to directing 10:24, Eric has expanded his skill set by serving in the area of maintenance at CRBC while also attending the College of Biblical Studies.

Kim Reid
Preschool Director

Kim loves "watching children grow in the love of the Lord." As Preschool Director she has been encouraging the growth process since 1992. Kim coordinates all preschool activities, workers, and facilities. A native Houstonian, Kim has been a member of CRBC for 17 years. She and her husband, David, have 3 sons, Jacob, Benjamin, and Tanner and 2 Boston Terriers, Mitzie and Bo. With the little free time she finds, she enjoys crochet, cross-stitching and reading.

Jeanette Sonnier
Education Secretary

After 24 years in the corporate world, Jeanette joined the CRBC staff in 2002. Her primary responsibilities include serving as the main receptionist as well as coordinating curriculum for the Sunday School Departments. Saved at age ten and a half, Jeanette has been a CRBC member since 1988. She is a member of the Adult Choir and a teacher in the Adult 1 Sunday School Department. Her hobbies include gardening, sewing, and giving Shane a hard time.
